Soldering Tip Cleaning and Daily Soldering

1. Clean the rust and corrosion on soldering iron tip using solder cleaning wire, fine sandpaper, and other tools while it’s cold
2. Adjust the soldering iron temperature to 350 °C / 660 °F, max if no temp setting
3. Apply a thick solder wire to the tip for the initial coating (Thick solder wires generally have a high ratio of tin and resin)
4. Dip in only the tip of the soldering iron to the soldering iron tip cleaner 1-2 times for 2 seconds
5. Clean the tip. E.g., with coiled tip cleaner

*Repeat this process as necessary to ensure the tip is glazed
